601ARTBOOK PROJECT2007
What can type do for you? In case of this exhibition poster by the Seoul-based form 601bisang,
it can express the sound of voices reverberating in a lecture hall-echoing mumbling, shouting, laughing,
breathing a heavy sigh. With a nod to deconstructionist typographers from David Carson forward,
designer Park kum-jun gathered fonts recycled from other contest posters, jamming, flipping,
and brutally kerning them into a new kind of visual language. At first indecipherable
(it reads, “Artbook is monologue”), the piece is like a coded message for an exclusive event.
