북두칠성 기운에 응하여 태어났다는 안중근의 아명, '응칠應七'. 안중근은 이 응할 응應을 가슴에 품고 독립운동의 소명을 다하지 않았을까. 청년 안중근은 아직 우리의 마음속에 살아 있다.

Ahn Jung-geun, an independence fighter during the Japanese colonial period, was called Eung-chil (應七) in his childhood. This name means “a child born under the energy of the Big Dipper (Bukduchilseong in Korean)”. Ahn may have dedicated himself to Korea’s independence movement in response to the destiny imprinted in his childhood name. Such dedication shown by young Ahn Jung-geun still remains alive in our minds.
